So today is my 44th birthday, and I got a pretty cool birthday present! I was featured in the April 2021 issue of Chicago Entrepreneurs Magazine as one of the top 25 Life Coaches in Chicago! Woot! So fun, amazing, and slightly scary to have a page with these powerful life changers. I’m humbled and at the same time ready to rock on in my 44th year on this planet.
I’m not going to lie, there was a part of me that did not want to do this. When I was approached about this possibility, there was a part of me that held back. There was a part of me that said, “Oh there’s no time for that.” There was a part of me that didn’t want to be seen (especially after hiding inside for what was 2020 into 2021). But earlier on that specific magical day I had made a commitment to myself to be brave. I even posted something on social media, what would you do if you you were just a little more brave today?
I remembered that I chose to value courage over comfort, so I went through with it. So now you know I’m going to ask you, how can you be a little more courageous today? What would that look like for you? What would that feel like? What step can you take towards the value of courage? I wonder what doors it would open for you if you realized that you deserve a seat at the table too.

So in celebration of this and for my birthday, I am making an announcement about my coaching prices. Throughout the pandemic, I actually lowered my prices. I know many life coaches train other coaches to raise their prices. They’ll say things like, “Know your value. Know your worth.” And here’s the thing, I am aware of my value. I am aware of my worth. It’s just that I don’t feel it’s other people’s jobs to meet me where I decide my value is.
Some coaches would say I have limiting beliefs about money and my worth since I keep my prices low (which I realize are still actually really high for some). I disagree. I say I know what I want, and I know what I need. I don’t need a lot of extra “stuff” in this life. And I want to help people who could not normally afford life coaching.
I want coaching to be available and affordable for more people. The pandemic taught me what I truly need and value. I live in a small house with my husband and our little dog. We live our lives creatively and are grateful for that everyday. We both have small businesses, and we get to make a lot of our own rules.
I definitely don’t have all the bells and whistles in my business. I don’t pay for expensive platforms, scheduling services, or fancy photographers. For me, this is strategic. I want my business personal. I want to be a real person for my clients. And I want my clients to be able to afford me. If I had all those bells and whistles, I would have to raise my prices. This is what works for me. It is not a way to criticize how anyone else does their business. It’s a way I keep true to who I am.
One thing I have found in the world of business is that you have to know who you are and what your values are, or you will get lost in it all. There are many people out there trying to sell you on “bigger and better” things. But is bigger always better? Not always.
That being said, I also have to charge enough. I put a lot of free content out into the world, and I have paid lots and lots of money to go to school and trainings in order to be able to do what I do. So I had to find a price point that kept me alive and one that was more reasonable for my clients in a global pandemic.
So that new price that I landed on is a flat $79 a session. This is whether you are an existing, previous, or new client. If you are a previous client who has been thinking about coming back, but can’t afford it due to COVID 19 struggles, I’m hoping this new price will be more accessible to you. And if this is still something you can’t afford right now, that is okay. I don’t use high pressure sales tactics. I am not going anywhere. I am here for when you need me.
Please also check out my many many free videos on my Youtube channel. Click here for the full list and remember to subscribe, so you get notified when I put up a free video. I plan on adding to these every month this year. So If you don’t see me as a private client, we can still connect through my videos and blog. 🙂
My gratitude to everyone who has read this far. I see you. You are doing great. Keep going. Keep dreaming. Keep loving the small things. Keep focusing on what is going right.
With Gratitude,
Your Fab Life Coach,
Elizabeth
